UCD Orientation Week 2021Orientation timetables will be available during the week commencing 30 August. Your Programme may be running local events, so please make sure you check your Orientation timetable carefully. Prior to your arrival in UCD, your Peer Mentor will contact you directly to arrange meeting you on the first day of your orientation in UCD. Your Peer Mentor will be a more senior undergraduate student, usually from your Programme, who has recently gone through Stage 1 and who will be available to support you throughout your first year, but particularly in the first semester. Their role is to help you settle into UCD, become more familiar with your programme and meet new friends, so don’t worry if you feel apprehensive about coming to UCD – we are all here to help and your Peer Mentor will be there from Day 1! Higher Options will run from Wednesday 25th to Friday 27th September 2024. Come and meet and speak directly to UCD staff and students at the UCD Stand in the Simmonscourt Main Hall. It is a great opportunity to ask questions and talk about your course choices at UCD. The Irish Times Higher Options is one of Ireland’s biggest student events and has become an annual fixture on the Education calendar and thousands of students from all over the country will attend over the three days of the event. Students will also be able to take part in Talks and Lecture Sessions about a wide variety of careers ranging from Engineering, Nursing, Agriculture and Science. The Talks and Lectures sessions are given by speakers from a number of organisations and institutions, offering insight, advice and information about the applications processes to third-level education in Ireland, the UK and Europe.
