Introduction

UCD School of Medicine and Medical Science offers a Graduate Entry medicine programme with funding from the Higher Education Authority (HEA) for Irish/EU students.
There were 77 places available in 2015. For details of the programme content, please click here.

Entry criteria

Candidates must hold, or expect to hold by the July prior to entry, a minimum 2.1 (Second Class Honours, Grade One) result in their first Honours bachelor degree (NFQ Level 8) awarded. The degree can be in any discipline.
For candidates who meet this requirement, a GAMSAT score (Graduate Medical Schools Admissions Test – Ireland) will be required.
Places are awarded via the CAO on the basis of GAMSAT scores.
Please note that students who qualify to apply for Graduate entry to Medicine will not be eligible to apply through the mature entry route.

Application Process:

Application should be made via the Central Applications Office (CAO) to the special Level 8 course code DN401 Graduate Entry Medicine. The application closing date is 5.15pm on 1st February prior to entry. DN401 is a restricted entry programme, so there is no late application closing date. Applicants must supply an original transcript of their degree and a evidence of award of their degree (e.g. certified copy of their parchment).
These documents must be submitted to CAO – please see Medicine Graduate entry section of CAO website for details of submission dates. Documents received after the submission dates will not be considered.
All previous third level attendances MUST be declared – please see Transfer Regulations.
